Concepción Teresa de Jesús Alzola y Vega, nació en 1930 en Marianao, Provincia de La Habana, Cuba. Falleció exiliada en Miami en 2009. Estudió del primario al bachillerato en el Colegio del Apostolado en La Habana y obtuvo un doctorado en Filosofía y Letras en la Universidad de La Habana. Destacó como teatrista, narradora, lexicógrafa, crítica e investigadora, siendo una de las intelectuales cubanas más distinguidas. Aleida Garrido la describió como una mujer modesta que priorizaba dedicar sus energías a crear y preservar la cultura cubana. Nada la detuvo, ni las penurias del exilio desde 1962, ni la salud precaria, ni la falta de reconocimiento.
